Birth

The birth of your baby is something that will stay with you forever.  At Acorn Pack, we want you to feel confident and relaxed as you have your baby.  Not every woman will have a textbook labour and birth, of course, but by learning more about the process of giving birth and the choices available to you, you will be able to make some decisions about the things that are most important to you.

As Acorn Pack develops, we will be adding more information to this section, including the all-important maternity bag checklists from hospitals local to Hillingdon and a birth plan tool which will help you to think through the options for your birth.

Hospital birth

If you want to have your baby in hospital, have a look at the NHS Choices website to see more information about which hospitals are closest to you.  You may also be able to read reviews of the units and you can compare their ratings for things such as cleanliness, patient and staff satisfaction.

Homebirth

You may choose to have your baby at home, which many women find a very positive experience.  Even if you haven't previously considered it, do give it some thought.  You will be able to labour in familiar surroundings and can, if you wish, hire or buy a birthing pool.
